Gee-Gees to compete in the QSSF

Sports Services has given its approval for the Gee-Gees Men’s Rugby team to participate in the QSSF Rugby League. As of this fall, the Gee-Gees will be competing against the Firsts at McGill, Concordia, Bishop’s and the University of Sherbrooke. In the first season, we will compete in an exhibition format with the goal of eventually becoming a full member of the QSSF League.  This is exciting and challenging news for the Gee-Gees and the culmination of the successful program that has developed. Now it is up to the players and the team administration to raise the level of commitment and competitiveness to prove that this is the league we should be playing in.

The entire playing schedule is still under development but our first QSSF match will be played in Sherbrooke on Sept. 5. This will be followed by an Alumni Game on Sept. 6.

For the new season, we will have a ‘varsity-style’ kit. There will be new jerseys and other items. We will be acquiring new track suits which all players must have (see the ‘Fees’ section under menu item “How to Join”).

Welcome to the home page of the Gee-Gees Men's Rugby based at the University of Ottawa.

·        Our motto is "Building the Passion" because rugby is our passion.

·        This is an elite team that competes successfully against other university rugby squads.

·        The Gee-Gees are interested in players who have a personal goal, an objective and a vision of playing for their senior league club team, their province (county) or at the National Level.

·        We are dedicated to furthering the growth of rugby in Canada.

Videographer Wanted

The Gee-Gees are seeking the services of a volunteer Videographer to film their upcoming games. These films would then be used as Coaching aids. You will need to have your own camera equipment. Travel, meals and processing costs will be covered by the team. Contact Coach Robinson at 613-850-0006.
